Counseling Sue Peterson, LMHC
Sue Peterson's approach as a master's level licensed mental health counselor at the Methow Valley Wellness Center is both comprehensive and specialized, focusing on aiding adults in healing from various challenges, including trauma, childhood abuse, anxiety, depression, and grief & and loss.

Sue utilizes Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an evidenced-based therapeutic method that employs side-to-side eye movements. This technique is designed to assist clients in addressing a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship concerns, and post-traumatic stress by reprogramming the way distressing memories and images are stored in the brain. The goal is to mitigate strong emotional and physical reactions triggered by these memories.
What sets ART apart is its potential for rapid results, often providing relief to individuals seeking help in as few as one to five sessions. Sue's incorporation of trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioral, attachment, developmental, and Christian faith-based approaches allows her to tailor therapy to each individual's unique needs. Her dedication to using a blend of evidence-based therapy, alongside faith-based approaches for those who desire such, ensures a holistic and personalized approach to healing.
Sue's is committed to supporting clients through their mental health journeys through a diverse array of therapeutic methods and in the most compassionate of ways. If you are struggling personally or relationally, feeling stuck, or experiencing a painful season in your life, the rewards for seeking help can be great and life-changing. It is Sue's privilege to come alongside others on their journeys of growth, healing, and change.
